A Quick Getaway to Bolihon Beach Resort, Carmen, Agusan del Norte

Image
If you're looking for a peaceful and affordable escape with friends or family, Bolihon Beach Resort in Carmen, Agusan del Norte is worth considering. Getting there, however, can be a bit tricky — especially if you're relying on public transportation. The area isn’t as accessible as other tourist spots, so having a private vehicle is definitely a big help. Despite the travel challenges, the moment you arrive and catch sight of the shoreline, you’ll know the journey was worth it. The beach may not be the most glamorous or pristine, but it has its own quiet charm. With its calm waves, warm breeze, and uncrowded space, Bolihon is perfect for those who want to take a break without all the fuss. There are small cottages available for rent, and the open beachfront is ideal for casual beach games, grilling food, or simply lounging around. It’s a place where you can enjoy the company of your favorite people, without distractions, and soak in the natural beauty around you. The sunset vie...

Image
If you’re in need of a peaceful break surrounded by nature, Panaraga in Barobo, Surigao del Sur is a spot worth checking out. With its relaxing vibes and scenic coastal views, it’s the kind of place that lets you slow down and breathe. During my visit, I stayed at Kubo ni Inday, a charming beachfront retreat that blends rustic simplicity with a calming seaside atmosphere. Getting there is a bit expensive if you're commuting. From the Barobo town proper, you can hop on a tricycle (Bao-bao) for around ₱200–₱300, and the ride takes you through pleasant countryside roads. If you’re driving your own vehicle, even better — the roads are smooth and easy to follow. Kubo ni Inday offers native-style cottages that are well-maintained, cozy, and clean. It’s the perfect place for those who want to enjoy the basics without the crowd. The caretakers—friendly locals from the area—were welcoming and made my stay feel even more laid-back and homey. However, there are still a few areas where they co...

Hidden away from the usual tourist trails, Claveria boasts sweeping views of rolling hills, open landscapes, and endless blue skies. A Quick Getaway to Brgy. Caasinan, Cabadbaran City By Rio

Image
If you're craving a quiet beach escape in Cabadbaran City, Barangay Caasinan is worth a visit. With its wide shoreline and calm atmosphere, it's one of the most well-loved beach spots in the area—and it's easy to see why.  For my stay, I chose Charisse Beach Resort, a cozy place located right by the sea. Before getting there, I rode a tricycle from the Cabadbaran City terminal, which only cost around ₱20–₱30. If you're bringing your own vehicle, no worries—the road is in good condition and easy to navigate. Charisse offers different room options—Deluxe, Family, and Standard—all of which are neat, comfortable, and well-kept. The cleaning service is quick, and the staff, who are friendly locals, made my stay more pleasant with their warm hospitality. That said, there's still room for improvement. The Wi-Fi connection is a bit weak, there's no in-house chef, and they don't offer activities yet. Also, Cabadbaran doesn't have online transport services like ...
